Performing aarti to Lord Jagganath

In aarti time, we learn how to different things with both hands ( bell ringing with left hand, offering item with right hand), counting (counting seven circles as we offer the item to the Lord), turn-taking and co-operation.

Moo – cow puppets

When we made cow puppets, we learnt about cows, the letter C and the sound it makes, cutting and pasting and story telling using puppets.

Playdough, beads and pipe cleaners

Through this open-ended play experience, we learnt to communicate, count, sort colours and shapes and built upon our fine motor, creative and problem solving skills!!!

Grouping images by beginning letters

.We were grouping images starting with the same letter on a metal board with magnetic letters. Through this activity we learnt letter – sound recognition, letter recognition, upper case-lower case match and about magnets too!

Park play – pool noodles

We were horse racing using pool noodles in the park. We built upon our gross motor skills, and learnt about horses as well!

Yoga in class

Through yoga we learn to stretch, breath and be more aware of our body. We also learn about different animals as we most yoga poses resemble animals.
